Born and raised in Oxford, MS, Halford was exposed to colorful southern arts at a young age. Having made artwork throughout her childhood it was a natural progression for her to pursue the arts as a career. She went on to study fine arts in Saint Louis,MO where she received not only an academic education but real world schooling from exposure to art-outsiders such as street artists, and the social, economic, and urban decay struggles going on in the city. She then went on to live in Philadelphia, PA to briefly study at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and in Chicago,IL where she lived in an unofficial musician and artists collective warehouse in the Pilsen neighborhood. In Chicago and Saint Louis she worked as a chalk artist for restaurants designing menus and updating large chalkboard murals for four years. Wanting to get back to her Fine Arts passion she is now settled in New Hampshire where she focuses on her paintings.
